Bar Raising Student Tech Interviews at Amazon
DISCLAIMER: Any interview questions used here are already available publicly from sites like Glassdoor and other blogs. I will not be providing any “special” or “confidential” information from Amazon, so if that’s why you are here, sorry, but you can close this right away. The purpose of this series of posts is to not just prepare folks for Interviews at Amazon, but also explain the process and the culture that defines that process, ultimately setting folks up for long-term success at Amazon.
I was having quite an interesting conversation earlier this week with one of my co-workers who had referred their next-door neighbor's son (still in University) for a full-time Data Engineer role at Amazon. One of the more interesting things they mentioned was that they were relieved that there was no Bar Raiser involved on the loop. With my spider-senses starting to tingle, I asked (quite apprehensively) what they meant by that. Their response was that student interviews did not involve a Bar Raiser and that it was an easier way to get through the Amazon bar instead of working elsewhere and trying out for Amazon later down the line.
Whoa. An easy backdoor to get into Amazon!? Cool!
